I recently had a 40% off sale on my Etsy shop prior to moving all my listings over to Ko-Fi. The hope was that I’d clear some stock to make the move a bit easier, but unfortunately I only made 3 sales.
Initially, I was devastated that I didn’t sell more, because it creates a larger task for me to recreate all the listings on Ko-Fi, as well as remove them from Etsy and update the links in my Facebook shop.
But then I realised that out of those 3 sales, there were 8 pieces of my art that were purchased. Those 8 pieces are headed out to new homes, who might be seen by people who haven’t seen my work before, and it might just lead to a sale somewhere down the road.
Even if things seem pretty bleak, try to look on the bright side… something positive usually comes out of every negative.
